The European-style cable distribution box is widely used in cable engineering of distribution networks. With double-side door opening and butt-joint sleeves as connecting busbars, it offers small overall length, tidy cable arrangement, and three-core cables need no large-span crossing. Cable joints comply with DIN 47636; 630 A bolted fixed-type joints are standard.
Where site space rules out a cabinet, cable joints can be combined directly into multi-circuit branches without busbars and laid in trenches — e.g. four circuits per phase from two front joints, two rear joints and one butt sleeve, with insulator and semi-conductive end caps sealing the rear ends. Branches can be expanded or reduced at will, housed in an enclosure or directly buried.
